1.7% BAGS FIRST CLASS, AS UNILORIN CONVOCATES 25,234 GRADUANDS

Between the academic sessions of 2020/2021 and 2022/2023, the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN) conferred First Class degrees upon 450 students. A grand total of 25,234 students are set to graduate during the university’s combined 37th and 38th convocation ceremonies, spanning from Friday to Monday.

 

These ceremonies were announced by Professor Wahab Egbewole, SAN, the university’s vice-chancellor, during a pre-convocation press conference in Ilorin, Kwara State.

 

To elaborate further, the 37th Convocation will see 14,477 students from the 2020/2021 academic session convoking, while the 38th Convocation will witness the graduation of 10,757 students from the 2021/2022 Academic Session. In the First Degree/Diploma category of the 37th convocation, there are 211 First Class graduates, 4,143 Second Class (Upper Division) achievers, 6,570 Second Class (Lower Division) graduates, 1,742 Third Class graduates, and 30 Pass graduates.

Additionally, the ceremony will honor 151 MBBS graduands, 73 Nursing graduands, 18 Optometry graduands, 43 Veterinary Medicine graduands, 12 graduands with Distinction, and 27 graduands with Pass in Pharmacy. Summing up, the University is set to graduate a total of 13,020 students with First Degrees/Diplomas.

Furthermore, the 37th convocation ceremonies will award a total of 1,457 Higher Degrees, adding an additional layer of academic distinction to the event.
