At the forthcoming sixth, seventh, and eighth combined convocation ceremony of the Federal University of Lafia, Nasarawa State, at least 50 students are set to be honored with first-class degrees across various disciplines.

 

The announcement was made by the university’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. Shehu Abdul-Raman, during a pre-convocation media briefing held in Lafia, the state capital, on Wednesday. Prof. Abdul-Raman revealed that a total of 6,499 graduates from the three cohorts of the university would be conferred degrees during the upcoming convocation event.

 

Highlighting the institution’s notable achievements under his leadership over the past three years, the Vice-Chancellor affirmed the university’s commitment to maintaining high standards to produce graduates capable of making significant contributions to societal development.

Emphasizing efforts to address insecurity by fostering partnerships with key stakeholders in the state, the Vice-Chancellor mentioned ongoing training initiatives for all staff members to enhance their expertise in respective fields. He further assured that staff welfare has been a paramount concern since assuming office as Vice Chancellor. Prof. Abdul-Raman emphasized the university’s dedication to equipping graduates with both knowledge and practical skills, fostering mentorship opportunities, and nurturing their potential beyond mere certification.
