University of Nigeria Nsukka Admission Requirements 2024/2025
If you want to study at UNN using either the UTME or Direct Entry modes, you are expected to prove that you are qualified by meeting the admission requirements. Below are the full details of the requirements you are expected to meet:-
- Candidates must possess at least five (5) O’Level credit passes, including English Language and Mathematics, obtained in not more than two sittings. Accepted O’Level results include WAEC, NECO, NABTEB, or GCE.
- Candidates must choose UNN as their first choice institution in their UTME registration.
- A minimum JAMB score of 180 is required for most courses, although higher scores are needed for competitive programs such as Medicine, Law, Pharmacy, and Engineering.
- Direct Entry candidates must possess an advanced-level qualification such as ND, NCE, IJMB, or HND, alongside required O’Level credits.
- Candidates applying for Direct Entry must also register through the JAMB Direct Entry platform.
- All prospective students must participate in the UNN Post-UTME screening exercise and meet the department-specific cut-off marks.
- Candidates are required to upload their O’Level results to the JAMB CAPS portal.
- Applicants must be at least 16 years old by the start of the academic session.
How UNN Calculates Aggregate Score
The final admission status is determined by an aggregate score, which is a combination of a candidate’s UTME score and their Post-UTME score. The formula for calculating the UNN aggregate score is as follows:
- UTME Score: Divided by 8
- Post-UTME Score: Divided by 2
Aggregate Score = (UTME Score / 8) + (Post-UTME Score / 2)
For example, if a candidate scores 280 in the UTME and 60 in the Post-UTME, their aggregate score would be calculated as:
(280 / 8) + (60 / 2) = 35 + 30 = 65
