FUOYE EXPELS 5 STUDENTS, SUSPENDS 152 OTHERS

The management of Federal University Oye Ekiti (FUOYE), Ekiti State, Nigeria has expelled five students and suspended one hundred and fifty two others for various offences of examination malpractice.

This is contained in a statement by the Academic Affairs Office of the university.

The management said that the expulsion and the suspension approval followed recommendation of the Students’ Disciplinary Committee ( SDC).

Specifically, the university said both the expelled and the suspended student were penalised for various examination malpractice offences.

While Okeredima Delight Ozioma (Social Sciences/Sociology), Akanmu Yusuf Adeyinka( Civil Engineering), Lateef Jimoh(Social Sciences/Economics), Adams Tijani (Science/ Mathematics) were expelled from the university with immediate effect, one hundred and fifty two others were suspended from between one semester and two semesters.

However, the university reiterated its zero- tolerance for all acts of indiscipline as it would not deviate from producing excellent graduates in character and learning.

“We will continue to advance in providing quality education and fostering innovation,” it said.
