Bayero University, Kano Announces Cut-Off Marks for 2025/2026 Admission
Bayero University, Kano (BUK) has officially released the institutional and departmental cut-off marks for the 2025/2026 academic session. The announcement provides clarity for thousands of candidates who selected the university as their institution of choice in the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
For the 2025/2026 admissions cycle, Bayero University has set its general JAMB cut-off mark at 180. This is the minimum score a candidate must have to be eligible for the university’s post-UTME screening. However, meeting this minimum score does not guarantee admission, as each department has its own specific, and often higher, cut-off point based on the program’s competitiveness and the performance of applicants.
Candidates aspiring to study in high-demand faculties must meet more stringent score requirements. The cut-off marks for some of the most competitive courses are as follows:
Outline of Bayero University Cut-Off Marks for all Courses
Bayero University Kano (BUK) typically sets variant cut-off marks. These cut-off marks are not the same. The Bayero University cut off mark vary depending on the competitiveness of the course. This means that to be eligible for the post-UTME screening, candidates need to score the minimum cut-off mark in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).
The minimal cut-off mark at BUK is 160 but courses like Medicine and Surgery, Law, Pharmacy, and various Engineering disciplines typically demand much higher scores.
