The Federal University, Oye-Ekiti, recently disclosed a significant policy change, imposing a hefty re-sit examination fee of N30,000 per course for students in the faculties of Pharmacy and Basic Medical Sciences, applicable from 200-level onwards.
This decision, communicated through a memo signed by the Registrar, Mufutau Ibrahim, has triggered widespread student distress, with many finding the cost insurmountable.
Despite the outcry, the university management has yet to address these concerns, leaving affected students grappling with the financial strain imposed by this new policy.
