The decision by Governor Mallam AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq to maintain the existing school fees was hailed as visionary leadership by Professor Shaykh-Luqman Jimoh, the Acting Vice-Chancellor of Kwara State University, Malete. Speaking at the 7th Student Union inauguration, Professor Jimoh emphasized that this move was aimed at ensuring continuous access to high-quality education amid rising fees in other institutions.
He urged students to reciprocate this gesture by promoting peace and utilizing their educational opportunities wisely.
Furthermore, Professor Jimoh expressed unwavering support for the new Student Union executives, encouraging them to uphold democratic principles and values.
The ceremony concluded with the swearing-in of the executives by Chief Judge Munfa’at Akanbi, in the presence of various university officials, alumni, and student representatives, highlighting the shared commitment to preserving the university’s spirit.
