The West African Examinations Council (WAEC) has announced that no official date has been set for the release of the 2024 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) results.
Students and parents are urged to be patient and await further updates from WAEC regarding the results. The council assured that efforts are being made to release the results promptly and accurately.
WAEC’s Communication Officer, Moyosola Adesina, clarified that the rumored August 5 release date is “unofficial.”
“It could be released before the said date or even after,” she told PUNCH Online in a telephone interview on Tuesday. “The August 5 date was not verified from the appropriate quarters.”
When asked whether the date was incorrect and when the official release date would be, Adesina responded, “Results are usually released on or before 45 days after the conduct of the last paper. If you calculate this in relation to August 5, it’s not up to 45 days.
