The management of the West African Examinations Council (WAEC) says it willrelease the results of the May/June 2024 West African Senior School CertificateExamination (WASSCE) today.
The school examination was taken by 1,814,344 candidates in 22,229 secondaryschools nationwide.
WAEC acting Head of Public Affairs, Mrs. Moyosola Adesina, said the Head ofNational Office (HNO), Dr. Amos Dangut will announce the release of May/June2024 WASSCE at Yaba headquarters on Monday.
Dangut had said in April 2024 that out of 1.8million students, 902,328 (49.73percent) are males and 912,016 females (50.27 percent).
He said the 1.8million candidates were examined in 76 subjects, made up of 197papers while 30,000 secondary school teachers supervised the examination.
The release of the 2024 WASSCE results will brighten the chances ofcandidates, who applied for admission in 2023/2024 academic session into theuniversities, polytechnics and colleges of education.
Many of the candidates, who wrote the 2024 school examination, did so asawaiting results candidates.
Also, some institutions including the private institutions have started theadmission process with dates for the Post-UTME screening/test.
Dangut said: “In tune with our recent tradition, the results of candidates sittingthe examination will be released 45 days after the conduct of the last paper,while certificates will be printed and issued to schools in less than 90 days afterthe release of results.”
He added that the results will be released along with the digital copies ofcandidates’ certificates, which can be accessed on the digital certificateplatform.
