When a university releases its merit list or other admission batches, it is uploaded directly onto the CAPS platform.
This allows candidates to see their admission status in real-time. For a candidate to be considered for admission, their O’level results must have been uploaded to their JAMB profile, as this is a fundamental requirement that institutions use to screen applicants. This system eliminates manual errors and ensures that every candidate’s application is considered on a level playing field.
For the 2025/2026 academic session, the process on CAPS is more vital than ever. After participating in the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) and their institution’s Post-UTME screening, candidates must regularly check their CAPS profile. The portal displays a range of possible statuses, from “Admission in Progress” to “Admitted.” Once a candidate’s status changes to “Admitted,” they are required to either accept or reject the offer. It is a dual-acceptance process: the institution offers the admission, and the candidate must formally accept it on the portal. Failure to accept an offer within the stipulated four-week timeframe can lead to the forfeiture of the slot, which may then be offered to another deserving candidate.

How to check your admission status
- Visit: https://efacility.jamb.gov.ng/ and login with your registered email address and password to access your dashboard
- Click on ‘Check Admission Status,
- Click on ‘Access my CAPS’
- Click on ‘Admission Status’ to see if you have been offered admission.
- If you have been admitted you will get a response with your Photo Image being displayed and a text Congratulating you on your admission offer, But if you are not offered any admission yet you will get a text response with “Sorry No Admission has been Given Yet“
- If you have been offered admission, you can proceed to Accept or Reject the admission by sending ACCEPT or REJECT as SMS to 55019 or 66019 using the specific Phone number linked to your JAMB profile
