UNILORIN MOVES UP THE RANKING LADDER
In demonstration of its strong determination of becoming the best in Nigeria, one of the first 10 in Africa and among the leading 500 universities at global level, the University of Ilorin has moved up the ranking ladder of leading ivory towers in the country.
The World University Ranking 2024 conducted by The Times Higher Education (@timeshighered), which was recently released, showed the University of Ilorin emerging as Number six among its peers in Nigeria.
The nation’s most sought-after University was only preceded by the Covenant University, Otta; the University of Ibadan; the Federal University of Technology, Akure, the University of Lagos as well as Bayero University, Kano in descending order.
The universities were evaluated and ranked based on 18 indicators that measure performance across five areas including teaching, research, environment, research quality, industry, and international outlook.
Reacting to the development, the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Wahab Olasupo Egbewole, SAN, welcomed the rising profile of the University as a leading centre of learning.
In a statement on his behalf by the University’s Director of Corporate Affairs, Mr Kunle Akogun, the Vice Chancellor said that he was sure that by the time the survey is conducted again, the University of Ilorin would undoubtedly emerge as the nation’s number one in every parameter of evaluation.
